I’ll be really blunt with you. Most people aren’t built for this.
The longer I’m in the game, the more obvious it becomes. So many people like the idea of being an entrepreneur, leading a team, building a business, starting a law firm. They talk about it non-stop, posting grand declarations on their social media and telling anyone who will listen.
But when it comes time to walk the walk — to climb the mountain despite the obstacles they face on their journey to the top — the truth comes out.
That’s when the fear sets in, the doubt shows up, and they fail.
That’s when most people fail.
Instead of pushing through when the going gets tough, they start negotiating with themselves. They start listening to the little voice that says, “This is too hard. Maybe this isn’t for me.”
It’s not about what you say at a cocktail party or on social media that makes you into a successful entrepreneur — it’s about what you do in the shadows.
There’s no shortcut through this. The success you admire in others is built in the shadows. It’s not flashy. It’s not Instagrammable. It’s grueling, exhausting, often lonely work that requires sacrifices. The hours that produce real results don’t show up on the feed. They happen late at night, early in the morning, and on the weekends while everyone else is resting, taking it easy, and trying to encourage you to do the same.
Success demands trade-offs. You can’t live a normal life if you want to achieve an extraordinary goal.
You think people who built a seven-, eight-, nine-figure business watched Netflix every night? Or slept in on weekends? Or attended every social event and partied with their friends whenever they called? You’re deluding yourself.
The majority of businesses don’t succeed because the majority of people aren’t willing to do what it takes. Period.
So before you even step into the arena, you have to look at yourself in the mirror, ask yourself an important question, and be very honest with the answer: “What am I willing to give up?”
Ask yourself if you’re truly committed or if you just like the idea of being a leader and building a business. Because your results will reflect your answer.
Are you willing to sacrifice sleep, comfort, and convenience? Are you willing to say no to your friends, skip family gatherings, or miss out on the latest HBO series? Are you willing to commit not just your time but your entire being to this journey?
If the answer isn’t a resounding yes, then you’ve already lost.
The real battle isn’t with the market or the competitors — it’s with yourself. Success isn’t reserved for the smartest, the luckiest, the most talented. It’s for those who are willing to do what it takes, even when it’s hard, unappreciated, and unseen. It’s for those who refuse to quit and are willing to sacrifice for their goals.
And that’s why most people fail.
Because when push comes to shove, they give in. They’re not willing to find a way to push through.
Are you?
