Your Intentionality Drives Your Level of Success

Everything comes down to the decisions that we make.

You only have so many hours in a day to apply towards certain things you want to do. When it comes to how you spend your time, think of it in buckets.

You can split your time equally into several different buckets. This can be with work, fitness, family, friends, or whatever else it might be. If you make this type of wide distribution, you can be okay at each of those.

But if you want to be great at something, it will require a higher prioritization.

Increasing your focus and time and energy in one area might mean that those other buckets get less of your time and energy than before. For example, if you want to focus on your career, that will require dedicating more time to that and less to your other areas.

If you want to be at the top of your field, like you see with elite athletes and high-achieving business leaders, you have to be intentional about the way you spend your time.

It’s more about the things you say “no” to than the things you say “yes” to.

So at its core, it’s not about work-life balance. It’s about figuring out what it is that you want.

What is your focus? What are your priorities?

Does the time you spend and do the decisions you make align with those priorities?
