Started From the Bottom

Of all the options out there, people are often surprised to learn that my favorite restaurant is Taco Bell.

Let me explain.

Back in the early days when Crisp was first starting out, I worked hard and late

If we landed one new client, I would consider that to be a major win. To celebrate, I’d head to Taco Bell after finishing for the day — usually around two in the morning.

If you’ve ever been to Taco Bell late at night, you’ve seen the drive-through line stretched all the way around the building. You know how many people are getting their late-night taco fix after leaving the clubs and the bars.

But then there was me: soberly, patiently waiting in line for my Cheesy Gordita Crunch after leaving the office.

Once I had it in my hands, I’d race home with anticipation, sit down with my delicious meal, and congratulate myself on a great week.

Whenever I eat Taco Bell, it still reminds me of a time when I was working around the clock to make the impossible happen — and to this day, it’s one of the most satisfying meals I’ve ever had.
