22 has been a lucky number in my journey growing Crisp. I faced rejection after rejection while trying to get our first client. I pitched our video services to 21 different organizations, but every single one said no.
Mind you, these weren’t mere emails or texts. They were full-fledged, in-person presentations or comprehensive conference calls — all resulting in a resounding “no.”
It was tough, but I didn’t give up.
Then, on the 22nd try, something amazing happened. We landed our first client.
Looking back, I realized that those 21 rejections taught me important lessons.
They showed me that I still had a lot to learn and improve on. Instead of feeling sorry for myself or blaming others, I took responsibility for my actions.
Failure isn’t about bad luck or unfairness. It’s a sign that we need to work harder and get better.
Whether it’s in business or in life, if you haven’t reached your goals yet, it’s because you’re not ready. You haven’t earned it yet. You don’t deserve it yet.
But the good news is that you can always change that.
The key to progress lies in taking responsibility and acknowledging that we have the power to change our circumstances.
So when things don’t go your way, remember that every setback is a chance to grow.
Take responsibility, keep learning, and success will come — even if it takes 22 tries.
