Having the Motivation to Keep Inspiring Others

2020 has been a tough year for everyone. This year has presented unprecedented challenges for business leaders everywhere and has caused many to feel defeated.

On top of that, leaders are also shouldering the uncertainty and concerns and stress of their team, clients, and even their community. That’s a lot to carry.

Here’s the thing: When you’re run down, tired, and exhausted, the thing that keeps you going doesn’t actually have anything to do with you. The thing that really keeps you going is when you’ve got someone else that is depending on you to push forward.

One of the best things that you can be is an example to somebody else — to show others what is possible.

No matter where you are today or what challenges and struggles you’re going through, your ability to weather a storm is inspiring for somebody else. You never know who’s watching — in fact, your perseverance may be helping somebody else gain the courage and confidence to keep going themselves.

You may be thinking, “Well how am I expected to actually face these challenges? How can I overcome them?”

The truth is, you don’t have to have all the answers today. It’s all about taking it one step at a time.

If you don’t know how to solve a problem or a hardship that you’re experiencing, at least get clear on the next step that you can take.

Then, once you get there, you can gain clarity over the next step, and so on. You don’t have to think too far ahead. You just have to do something to give yourself some options, some potential solutions, whatever it might be.

I’ll tell you what, when you have someone else that you are fighting for, a reason to keep going that goes beyond yourself — whether that be your clients, community, team, spouse, or children — you can be an example for them of what is possible, and that can carry you forward.
